Mark and Louise Hurd, a husband and wife team, set up Let it Homes in 2007. Both came from non-estate agency backgrounds, Mark a barrister in private practise and Louise a teacher, but both were landlords who were dissatisfied with the service they had received from various agents in the town. This prompted them to set a letting agency themselves.

Their experience as landlords and their professional backgrounds placed them in a good position to attract clients and grow their business.  Moreover, not being from the industry they were not shackled by the customary business model and approach of estate agents generally and marketed and therefore run their business from a fresh perspective.

Let It Homes has become one of the largest if not the largest agency (in terms of the number of managed properties and landlord clients) in Kettering. Both Mark and Louise believe in a very ‘hands on‘ approach and therefore unlike may of the other larger agencies , they as the owners, are always on site to ensure the proper running of the business.

In 2011 they set up an office in the High Street in Wellingborough, an office managed by Mark’s brother Glenn (again from a professional management (though non-estate agency) background) who soon made Let It Homes one of the largest and most successful agents in Wellingborough too. In short Let It Homes offers a meticulous, professional approach to marketing and managing their properties with all the benefits of a personal touch and attention to detail that a well run family business can offer to its clients.

Mark Hurd

Mark Hurd (Barrister-at-Law, LLB Hons) Partner

Mark practised as a barrister in private practice . A longstanding landlord, he ventured into the property industry in 2007 when he and Louise set up Let It Homes, which fast became the largest and most successful lettings agency in the Kettering area . His experience as a landlord and also as a lawyer at the sharp end of legal practice combined with a professional and diligent approach to his work has undoubtedly played its part in the success of the business. Although he is still a member of his barristers’ chambers in Leicester (currently as a door tenant) the demands and success of Let It Homes have meant that in recent years he has thrown himself into the business on a full-time basis. In his spare time Mark enjoys physical activity being a regular attender at his local gym, playing football and squash and walking trips . He also enjoys travel, learning foreign languages, cooking and drinking wine. AML Officer.

Louise Hurd

Louise Hurd (BA (HONS) PGCE) Partner

Louise founded Let It homes, with Mark in 2007 leaving her career as a Primary Teacher. Louise’s ethos is to always deliver. She puts the success of the business down partly to the passion that drives her, maintaining high standards and the belief that hard works always pays off . Louise believes customer service is key. Although Louise has focussed hard on the business over the last 10 years, she has also focused on her 3 children and is proud of the young adults they have become. In her spare time Louise enjoys hacking around the Leicestershire Countryside on her Horse, Teddy, walking the 3 family dogs and dance. Data Protection Officer.

Vanessa Freeman

Vanessa Freeman Assistant Branch Manager and Senior Valuer/Negotiator

Vanessa has worked in the industry since 2007 and began working for Let It homes in 2010 and has a proven and impressive record at both letting properties and selling the Let It Homes service to landlords. She is passionate about people and property – essential attributes for this line of work and has a reputation for acting quickly and persuasively to achieve positive results. Out of work she is a self confessed ‘foodie’ and enjoys cooking and eating out as well as burning those calories off at the gym.

Blanka Strzalkowska

Blanka Strzalkowska Assistant Branch Manager and Maintenance Manager

Blanka is our Assistant Office Manager and Manager of the Maintenance department, with previous management experience Blanka knew the role was designed for her. Blanka has a strong and fair personality, she has excellent negotiating skills and really enjoys new projects, ensuring that she works with landlords to make properties modern and safe. Blanka is accurate and diligent and she is focused on the wellbeing of Tenants and the satisfaction of Landlords. In her spare time she enjoys interior design, creative arts as well spending time with her family and pets.

Renata Ronowska

Renata Ronowska Senior Administrator

Renata joined us in April 2014 and has an eye for detail. Her strengths lie in her IT skills and her organisation. Renata is a very positive person who always goes out of her way to help. Renata says ‘I joined the property industry a few years ago and have the privilege to work with amazing people. I believe we all make a professional team, devoted to our customers’ . Renata loves crime, thriller and suspense movies, reading books and dancing.

Tom Howling

Tom joined Let It Homes two years ago and has hit the ground running. He has a huge enthusiasm for ‘all things property’ and is very much a ‘people person’ relishing his customer facing role from the very start of his time with Let It Homes. Extremely polite and well spoken, he is a popular member of the team. In his personal time he plays football, tennis and badminton and exercises at the gym. Other interests include music and singing - flexing his baritone vocal chords.

Vicki Lodder

Vicki Lodder Property Manager

Vicki has joined the team to support Blanka in Maintenance, Vicki has a very positive attitude to her role, nothing is too much and she wants to provide the best customer service she can. She approaches her role with good humour and a friendly demeanour and is a positive asset to Let It! Vicki likes to travel and see new places and cultures. Having previously spent over a year in Czech Republic and mid/Eastern Europe to immerse herself in different ways of life and meet new people. Vicki is an animal lover who enjoy long walks with her two little dogs (in any weather!) She has a good social life and likes meeting with friends and playing pool.

Aine Powell

Aine Powell Lettings Negotiator

Aine is our newest recruit, joining us in May 2018. Aine comes from a teaching background but wanted a career change and her bubbly character is perfect for our front of house letting team. Aine is a fastidiously organised and precise team member. She is an excellent communicator and administrator. When not at her desk she supports the lettings team with viewings. Aine enjoy going to the gym and taking part in water sports, she enjoy going to the movies with her husband and helping my best friend with her cake sales at events around Leicestershire/Northamptonshire.

Glenn Hurd

Glenn Hurd Managing Director, MInstLM, Wellingborough Let It

Glenn has a background in management and corporate management having spent 20 years in the Care industry and is a Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management. He took an active role as spokesman to the Northamptonshire Association of Registered Care Homes for 8 years, dealing with Members of Parliament, the County Council, Primary Care Trust, media, Television, Radio and local and national publications. Seven years ago, he had a change in direction and took over as the Managing Director of the Wellingborough branch of Let It. He brought a corporate understanding to the running of the Let It, Wellingborough branch. He enjoys both playing and watching football, reading and playing snooker/pool.

Karen Richardson

Karen Richardson Office Manager

Karen has worked for the Wellingborough office for almost 13 years now. Working her way up to be office manager, she has held this post for some 6 years. Karen has a professional manner and prides herself in providing a professional and efficient service to our clients. She likes walking her dog, gardening and has a keen interest in interior design.

Abi Hurd

Abi is the newest recruit to the Wellingborough office. She previously worked in admin, she also held a supervisory role for a national bakery chain. Abi is willing, polite and keen to assist. Her interests include reading, drawing, and painting.
